Horst has five years experience as a consultant and trainer in a business consultancy in Germany prior to immigrating to New Zealand. 

He joined the team at Synovate in January 2002 and through his extensive travel and tourism knowledge has quickly established a client portfolio which includes Air New Zealand, Freedom Air and House of Travel amongst others.

In 2004, Horst won a Platinum Award for market research effectiveness in the Tourism & Hospitality Category for Air New Zealand.

Although Horst enjoys working on travel and tourism projects in particular, he is also responsible for a range of clients in financial services, telecommunications and social research.

Specific areas of research expertise include market investigation and product analyses, examination of new product and service concepts, and brand and/or behaviour commitment.

Horst’s 2007 MRS conference paper on the Net Promoter Score was recently quoted in a white paper in the United States.

Key clients of Horst’s include Sovereign, ASB, EECA Business, Burger King and Air New Zealand.

Horst is actively involved in promoting market research in New Zealand and was the president of the MRSNZ between March 2007 and March 2010.
